Blogger gets lazier

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I can’t tell you the number of times people approach me in the street and ask, "What were the last ten articles you read on RSS-enabled websites and found interesting, in reverse chronological order?" Well I can’t stop people from asking that question, but I can now point them to the new content chip at the top of the right sidebar. As We May Recommend is a list of the last ten articles I found interesting. Other people provide the content, Google Reader provides the technology: it’s a casual blogger’s dream come true.

Now there’s a reason to visit more than once a month!

That’s neat. I hope Bloglines steals that soon, because I can’t be bothered to get used to a new feed reader.

very cool but I hate the Googliness of its design

You’re required to hate it though, right? :)

I would like to have more control over the design (like, output some divs Goog!), but the copy and paste embedding is pretty handy.

Noor!! There’s nothing wrong with Googliness!!

Google RSS reader rocks! Or so I was told – I actually use Bloglines :)

I <3 Googlites using Bloglines and Microsofties using Firefox. It brings me great joy.

It’s like this post and these comments are written in another language.

True, they don’t talk like this in Bushwack.

The fact that Google Reader’s Shared Items generates its own ATOM feed is enough for me to overlook the lack of any other Shared Items options. (for now). As I just ditched my paid hosting and got a free WordPress.com blog, the feed is the only way I can publish my shared items on my site.
