- First thing I saw upon arrival at DFW: guy in a cowboy hat
- Second thing: a big ad for STEAK
- Everyone was super-friendly in a way that not many are in Michigan. I regret not checking out a few grocery store parking lots, but I suspect that these are a people who put shopping carts in the cart corrals.
- The "ya’ll" thing is really endearing.
- The suburbs are one giant Collins Rd. There are a lot of suburbs.
- 80 degrees and breezy is an exceptional way to live.
- One surprise discovered driving around: many towns are proud of the exceptional purity of Texas drinking water, so much so that they erect signs at the city limits proclaiming the existence of this tasty perk.
- One suspicion confirmed driving around: white ladies and white SUVs are a too perfect match.
- I took some pictures. Most are from the Dallas Arboretum (pictured below, on the left), a very cool place to wander around for a few hours.
- Can’t wait to get back in a couple weeks.

Around the office, eh? ORifice, maybe. Question: How does innocent mattbot know just what that is? and honestly, don’t we deserve some explaination as to where and when it was viewed? I can’t wait for Kate and Scott’s comments on that picture.

We just found it in the grass and decided to snap a pic. I knew what it was because I had seen a Discovery channel special on scorpions and their poisonous venom.

hey matt,
why didn’t you tell me you were coming to town? i would have picked up some of the garbage i had strewn about my yard. btw, i found the rubberband and the IOU note for the other item, no wories, get it back when you can (i suggest some hush puppies from long john silver’s, they should flush it out).

Starbucks?! You didn’t go find a local coffee shop that doesn’t serve boiled potting soil?

Starbucks was the local coffee shop, mang! Plus we knew they would have wireless access, courtesy of T-Mobile and Catherine Feta-Jones.
