What is the difference between "hits" and "page views"?
When a page is requested from the server, it may contain, for example, four images. When this occurs, the access log will record five hits - one for the HTML webpage and four for the four images. A page view occurs when a computer makes a request for a file on asstastic for the first time. No matter how many hits are recorded for that session, one page view is registered until the computer (i.e., you) leaves asstastic.
